IMO: Certain folks were smart enough to figure out and/or hear the lingering rumors to know that the guy likely had more accusations coming.
So they made the woman’s life a misery, threatened her kids and made it into a big news story to warn other women off.
Thankfully it didn’t work.
But, damn, that is freaking evil. Like, Thanos has moral superiority over these guys at this point.
